Each year, the Grove City Area United Way sponsors a "Stuff the Bus" drive. The purpose of this drive is to obtain new school supplies, including backpacks and lunch boxes, for children in need who reside within the Grove City Area School District community.
Please click here for information and here for an Assistance Request Form. Families must complete the Assistance Request Form to be considered for the program. Supplies are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, so it is helpful to submit requests in a timely manner. Although we want to assist as many families as possible, there may not be enough supplies to meet all of the requests, so PLEASE submit your request as soon as possible.
The distribution process usually takes place the week prior to the first day of school. Families requesting assistance will receive more information after a completed request is received. NOTE: The fact that you submit the request form does not guarantee that we will be able to provide your children with school supplies.
Thank you to the volunteers and contributors that made it possible to meet all of the requested needs thus far
and have backpacks and supplies left over for next year as well!
Stuff the Bus Drives Successful
The Grove City Area United Way would like to thank all of the individuals, companies and churches who gave so generously of their time and resources to make this year’s Grove City Area United Way Stuff the Bus program a success. Because of the great generosity of numerous people, we were able to distribute brand new backpacks filled with school supplies to Grove City school students in need. Since we started the Stuff the Bus program in Grove City in 2008, we have distributed over 1,000 backpacks to Grove City Area School District students whose families were in need of assistance!
We express our sincere thanks to the following who supported the 2018 Grove City Area United Way Stuff the Bus program by holding donation drives and making monetary donations: Church of the Beloved Disciple, Grove City Alliance Church, The Foot and Ankle Wellness Center of Western PA, Grove City Area Federal Credit Union, Momentum Chiropractic, Farmers National Bank, Meals on Wheels, Grove City Medical Center, Broad Street Grille and Center Presbyterian Church. Without the support and assistance of all those listed above, this program would not have been possible.
Finally, on behalf of the GCASD students who received a new backpack and school supplies this year, the Grove City Area United Way wants to thank the Grove City community for once again showing in such a concrete way that you truly care about making our community the absolute best that it can be for all of our residents. Thank you for LIVING UNITED.
